Update: Fracking coming to NY, NJ, PA and Delaware

Chris Christie made $28,000 from investments in a company that recycles fracking wastewater. This was in his 2010 tax return, according to a report by NPR. Here is the link:

http://stateimpact.npr.org/pennsylvania/2011/10/24/nj-governor-has-interest-in-fracking-technology

The NJ Assembly voted, last year I think, to ban fracking. Outright ban. Christie vetoed that, and instead issued a moratorium to allow time for the EPA to report its findings. Hmmm? Moratorium instead of an outright ban. He did extend that moratorium this past August, until August 2012, when it will expire, unless he extends it again.

But there is a vote on Monday by the Commission for the Delaware River Basin on whether or not to approve rules that would allow fracking. It seems to me this vote is relevant, in spite of the temporary moratorium.

I called the Governor's office. That phone call I have recounted elsewhere, see here:

(Nobody seems to have read that post at all.)

So, it seems to me that it would indeed be nice if some nice media outlet -- other than the suspect NPR, that is -- would pay some attention to this conflict of interest.
