U.K. photographer shoots images of dogs in cars

You’ve seen their forlorn faces staring out from behind glass steamed from too much panting. Alone, with only a seatbelt to chew on, man’s apparent best friend are howling reminders of that feeling of rejection.

Dogs left in cars by their owners are a frequent sight on any street, and now they’re the subject of London-based photographer Martin Usborne’s latest project MUTE: The silence of dogs in cars.

“(The idea for the series) came from a feeling I had as a child that persisted, which is pretty universal: The fear of being alone,” Usborne said in an interview with the Star.

A four-year-old Usborne was left in his parents’ car, for 15 minutes, when they popped in to shop at the local supermarket and quickly began to wonder if they had left him forever. ............(more)
