That headline alone should give people pause and make them question if Congress is truly representing the 99%. I'm not discounting that 53% are not millionaires, but there's definitely something wrong.

Now, Rick Perry has introduced a plan to halve the salaries of Congressional members and their staff; cut back the time they spend in Washington to half and enforce term limits. I know that Governor Goodhair will never get the Republican nomination but he didn't pull this new plan out of his own idiotic ass. It's being floated to see how the public (namely Republican voters) will respond to it.

So what would happen if such a plan were to be put in place? It would weed out longtime Congressional members; a lot of Dems and older more moderate Republicans. Then we'd have nothing but members of the 1% spending part of their time writing and passing laws that benefit the other half of their lives - the part that makes all that money. It's a perfect consolidation of government and corporate that's already underway, but it would be 'legitimate'. Those who aren't already part of the 1% would be sponsored to run and would look forward to a lot of cash and a when their term was up.

I don't think I'm wrong. I also don't think I'm wrong that the Republican primary is a sham; the whole circus and stupid candidates orchestrated to convince Republican voters that Romney is the best of the bunch. The losers will be getting healthy payouts.
