Diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 2009, first-year Sen. Andy Hill faced a grim future — and with each stage of treatment, the prognosis only got worse.

The cancer started in his left lung, but spread to the right one. Surgery would do no good because the cancer had already spread to the lymph nodes. Doctors could only tell Hill to wait and see if the chemotherapy and radiation would improve his condition.

50. My Puebloknot story.

I met her through DU. I'd seen something she'd posted, we PM'd a few messages, learned we live in the same city. So we got together a bit, sharing our mutual feelings about things. I met SourFlower also. I was most struck by the deep connection between the two.

Ours wasn't a deep friendship, but a really GOOD acquaintanceship. I last saw both Puebloknot and SourFlower at a wool festival several months ago -- they both knit wonderfully and Flower also spins. In fact, we met up because Flower was practicing on a spinning wheel at a booth, and it was Puebloknot who looked at me closely enough to recognize me. I was in my usual oblivious state.

It was so good to see them both. They both looked good and seemed quite happy, I'm glad to report. I am so, so sorry to hear this news. This is a reminder about remaining in touch, and not letting friends or acquaintances slip away.
