Penn St. appoints former inmate to run the asylum.
Former Penn State football and wrestling standout Dave Joyner, a member of the Board of Trustees and a Distinguished Alumnus, has been named the school’s acting athletic director.

The announcement was made earlier this afternoon, and interim AD Mark Sherburne, who took over for Tim Curley in the wake of the scandal involving former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, will return to his former role as associate AD.

As I understand it, Joyner is in fact the full-time AD. He is the acting AD because Curley is technically on administrative leave. But from what I’m told, don’t expect Joyner to be just a placeholder for a full-time AD to be named later. Joyner is the guy.

1. What is needed for PSU is less an AD than a DA.

4. They needed someone who knows where the bodies are buried..
It would be hard to misdirect the search otherwise.
