Any news on Walker recall? |
|
I'm wondering if we're on track with collecting enough signatures.

1. It's a little early for raw numbers but here is what Chris Bowers of Daily Kos wrote: |
|
The first day of the recall of Scott Walker is now in the books. Here are some key numbers on what happened: 400,000: The number of technical college students in Wisconsin who Republicans yesterday decided should have more stringent ID requirements in order to vote. 10,000+: The number of recall Walker petition forms the Democratic Party of Wisconsin said were downloaded online. (Update: The DPW now says over 18,000 have been downloaded.) 8,392: The population of New Richmond, Wisconsin, where over 200 recall signatures were gathered. 1,000+: The number of protesters who marched to Scott Walker's house yesterday and signed recall petitions in the driveway of a neighbor who supports the recall. 100+: The number of recall petition signing events held around the state. 58: The percent of Wisconsinites who support recalling Scott Walker, according to a a poll released yesterday. 28: The number of schools in the school district of Waukesha, according to its website. 25: The number of schools that an ad Scott Walker released yesterday says are in the school district of Waukesha. 4: The number of Republican state senators who had recall campaigns filed against them yesterday. 1: The number of state senate seats Democrats need to win in order to take control of the chamber. Infinite: The amount of money Scott Walker is legally allowed to raise from individual donors, such as the billionaire Koch brothers, during the recall petition drive. If you live in Wisconsin, please sign up to recall Scott Walker. No matter where you live, please contribute $7 to support the recall of Scott Walker.

3. They were in a neighbor's driveway? From hearing Scotty whine to Insanity, you would think they |
|
were camped out on his lawn and looking in the picture window making faces at his family.

Keeping my fingers crossed. 9000 signatures a day is a huge feat.

2. I saw there were 10K petitions downloaded on the first day. |
|
My daughter took one to high school, she knows some 18 year olds who can vote.
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't release a lot of info on the numbers, just to keep the energy up. It seems like that's what they did during the Darling recall.
