Portland police chief's claim regarding rape not exactly as represented.
Yesterday in news comment, the police chief said that while the Portland police force had been busy with protesters shutting down banks, a rape victim had to wait two hours to be aided.

The implication was clear. The message was delivered. Many citizens were outraged.

Today we learn, thanks to channel 8 NBC reporting, the rape had happened two days previously. And while every sympathy goes to the victim and while she certainly needs police assistance, the police chief cravenly used her situation to frighten the community.

1. Seems like everytime there's a story like that -- there's another story like that.
The big fat liars.

2. Maybe, just maybe if the Portland police hadn't been so busy....
gearing up and getting ready to do this to an unarmed woman:

they could have spent the time, energy and resources going after a rapist.

3. The message is clear - the mayor doesn't care about rape. It's a trivial thing to him.

4. True oe not, he has his values wrong.
Basically he was saying that protection of a business above is more important than that of a rape victim. He should be fired.
