We must not allow him to be judged in a normal court, and he should not be held to account for his crimes in a normal manner. If only, it is impossible to make sure he is not well, should be behind bars for life.

Pretending to be delusional is sometimes seen as an easy way of avoiding criminal charges in favor of a short hospital stay. He'll be evaluated by people who know how to tell the difference.

Plus it's worth noting that "mentally ill" is NOT the same as not being competent to stand trial. The latter is primarily based on whether someone could reasonably be expected at the time of their crime to know the difference between right and wrong. If someone was delusional and thought their best friend was a murderous space alien, not competent. If they were delusional and thought their best friend was fucking their wife, they're still qualified to stand trial.
