1% that there are more facets to the country than just the stock market. America is drowning and the 1% don't want to pony up to help create jobs, improve education, improve the housing market, R&D in green energy, infrastructure, reduce the debt or whatnot.
The only thing that functions is the only thing the 1% need to function. The 1% bought the country and make it work for only them.

it has to be taxed away from them. The men who devised the progressive income tax structure knew that.
Unfortunately, with the extreme right owning all news corporations, it's going to be a hard sell to get it back. However, getting it back is the only way this country will survive.
