Bernie Sanders Levels CNN And Delivers The Truth To The Mainstream Media
SANDERS: I am not. But here’s the point to be made. I don’t think it’s made enough in the media. If you look at the ideology of these right wing Republicans, more tax breaks for rich, cut Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid, deregulate Wall Street after Wall Street caused this horrendous recession we’re in, more unfettered free trade so we can lose more jobs to China. Do you know how many people believe in that ideology? Maybe, 15, 20 percent max. The real issue is why Democrats aren’t winning by 30 or 40 percent.

BLITZER: Why not?

SANDERS: Because they are not clarifying the reality that — that’s their problem. They have got to make it clear they are on the side of the middle class and working class and differentiate themselves from Republicans. So when the president and other Democrats come forward and say, well, we’re thinking about maybe cutting Social Security. The average person says is there a difference –

5. So, why aren't the Dems winning by 30-40%?
I'd rather have any Dem voted in than have
a road-blocking Repuke in office any day.

There are so many people in OWS, why don't we have a Dem majority?

COMMENT: I HATE the propaganda the Repukes sling!!!!!
The outright lies piss me the hell off!!!!
They don't win because of their position - They win because they create confusion.
(so the middle class that votes Repuke must be totally s-t-u-p-i-d !!!!)
There must be something we can tell them to make them understand
that they are voting against themselves....

Did you watch the whole clip/read the whole transcript?

Why should we vote for the Democrats if they just keep caving in to the Republicans? If they're going to just let the Republicans run all over them, might as well go ahead and vote for a Republican since they're just going to get everything they want anyway.

I could never vote for a Republican myself and I do vote Democrat as a way to vote against Republicans, but that's all it is. It's not like I believe in the party, or that they'll change anything, because they just keep giving in.

Social democracy assumed that man—though crippled by thousands of years of patriarchal power—was capable
of democracy and self-government. It refuted serious scientific endeavor, as of a Freud, to comprehend the
complicated human structure. Thus it became inevitably dictatorial within its ranks and compromising toward the
outside. "Compromising" not in the good sense of the word that one has to understand the standpoint of the
opponent and has to agree with him where he is right, but compromising in the sense of sacrificing principles for
fear of disputes and in the sense of trying "to be on good terms" with an adversary bent on murder. It was
Chamberlainism in the camp of socialism.

Also - read that whole link for some answers to your other questions, about why the unpolitical masses are attracted to fascism.

13. Thank you both!
I saw the idea about the Dems caving but couldn't think
that voting Repub could lead to any kind of solution.

Agree totally that the Dems need some balls!
I thought that Obama trying to "reach across the aisle"
was a good way to show the GOP that he was willing to
try to work together. In hind-sight I see it was a waste
of time but, it needed to be done so we could find out
if they were willing to work together. Now that we see
they are not, we, unfortunately have lost 3 years of
productivity. Maybe that's what was needed to piss
people off and get to OWS. Now that we have the proof
we can give Obama a Dem majority and do all the things
"WE" want and not feel guilty that we are not being fair
to the other side. They've proven now, that they are bought
and just an arm of the wealthy, who are even so stupid that,
when the wealthy ask to be taxed in order to help the economy,
the GOP continues to fight against it.
It's taken a while but I see this as the dawn of a new era!!

Thanks for your help!!

9. Because they are doing the same and calling it bipartisan.
But that is the least we need right now in the fight for our lives and futures. We need someone to kick ass and take names and not implement any more Republican ideology.

6. Typical Bernie
The ONLY senator that really does represent the middle and working class. The rest of the Senate Democrats are fools to not listen to him.

16. kr Bernie speaks for me.
The only reason the Democrats are not winning by 30 or 40% is because they will not stand with the middle class. Why won't they? Have they all embraced the third way?

17. "They have got to make it clear they are on the side of the middle class and working class..."
"They have got to make it clear they are on the side of the middle class and working class and differentiate themselves from Republicans"

But they're NOT. For a long time now Dems have simply been Republican-lite.

Dems are now addicted to corporate campaign financing and perks.

If they stand up for the middle class and working class they lose all that.

Which is why we haven't heard a peep.
