So I turned on MSNBC this morning.....
Watched Chuck Todd and his side kick.

Had to turn it off within a minute or two.

This guy should be working at TMZ or Entertainment Tonight.

This snarky, gossipy coverage of politics is debasing the process.

Look Chuck, politics is important to peoples lives, the results can literally mean life and death.

It's not like covering Bradgelina or whatever the fuck that was. You know why? Because it's show business and is a diversion.

If you and Cable TV continue to devolve the political process by insisting on covering it with an adolescent sneer, what do you expect from the representatives.

The punishment fits the crime, or rather the coverage fits the result.

You single out the odd, the bizarre and uncivil behavior and highlight those who inhabit the fringe.

Is it any wonder the country is left with the right?

Fuck you Chuck.

Get a pair and grow-up you nasty little boy.

3. I listened to NPR last night and had to turn it off
maybe it was the mood I was in. Damn near sounded like a Republican commercial on the evils of health care to me.
Maybe I am overly sensitive these days.

too sensitive...The RW seems to be taking over the media more and more.

14. Yeah, threatening to cut off public broadcasting funds . . .
works wonders with PBS content. Soon it will be totally dependent on corporate funding just like the rest of the media.

What ever happened to "public" airwaves? For their "ownership" of electronic media, corporations should be paying huge fees to the government or allowing free public access to broadcasting (and I don't mean those pathetic little cable stations).

16. Yes, I've never entirely understood this..
The "airwaves" are public but the cable "network", for some reason, isn't...It's one of the reasons many people say that the Fairness Doctrine can't be re-instated, and I, along with lots of others right her on DU, would love to see that happen.

I'm one of the technologically challenged, so I'd probably some kindly geek to explain it to me.

7. Ah, Chuck Todd, MSNBC's resident genius . . . gag!!!
I don't know if anyone caught it, but there was a clip shown recently of Todd interviewing Gabrielle Giffords right after her office had been vandalized. He insinuated that Democrats were exaggerating or making up the violence and threats against them. Giffords was taken aback. She said something to the effect that she was certainly not doing either.

He is a shallow, arrogant little twerp.

11. Yes, and whenever they show that clip, they leave out Chuck's snarky comments
they've trimmed it down to only include what Ms. Giffords said.

My guess is that Chuck asked them to not include his part in that conversation when showing it.

He's a weasel!

17. I was listening to a program that covers Albany politics. They were
bidding farewell to a reporter ( I think for Newsday) because he is being switched off the Albany beat. It's his papers policy to limit the length of the Albany assignment because after a while, the reporters just get too chummy with the politicians and lobbyists. It's just human nature.

22. Where did he come from? Who does he know?
According to Wikipedia bio, Todd did not even graduate from college. He supposedly worked on Tom Harkin's campaign in '92. Oh look, he is married to a woman who is very powerful in Democratic politics. Maybe he feels he has to be extra Republican because of his background. Nah, he seems to enjoy being a Republican A-hole waaaay too much.

Todd doesn't seem to be talented enough to warrant all the kissing up he gets from the Scarborough and Matthews et al. There's something here that smells like nepotism or butt boy or Tim Russert or ?.
