Stop the Internet Censorship Bill (easy form to contact Congress)
An easy form to contact your US Congressperson against SOPA censorship bill:

http://act2.freepress.net/sign/sopa_letter/

I added: "I am concerned that SOPA makes streaming copyrighted material a felony. The line between Fair Use and a violation is unclear. That distinction should be handled civilly. Not by locking people behind bars."

3. Here's an AVAAZ poll to sign as well

I like to apply the stick a bit in my emails to Congress and point out how much OWS would grow if this became law.

7. I'm reading it right now.

So far it reads like the Patriot Act. A broadly written corporate wishlist that will be abused beyond belief.

But Democrats are behind it, so we're supposed to support it. Go us!

Edited to add: What they should have called it was the "Fuck Fair Use And Let's See If We Can Get Some Drug War Stupidity Involved As Well Act", but I guess that is a little long.

11. Here is actual text from the bill
===
SEC. 104. IMMUNITY FOR TAKING VOLUNTARY ACTION AGAINST SITES DEDICATED TO THEFT OF U.S. PROPERTY.

No cause of action shall lie in any Federal or State court or administrative agency against, no person may rely in any claim or cause of action against, and no liability for damages to any person shall be granted against, a service provider, payment network provider, Internet advertising service, advertiser, Internet search engine, domain name registry, or domain name registrar for taking any action described in section 102(c)(2), section 103(d)(2), or section 103(b) with respect to an Internet site, or otherwise voluntarily blocking access to or ending financial affiliation with an Internet site, in the reasonable belief that--

(1) the Internet site is a foreign infringing site or is an Internet site dedicated to theft of U.S. property; and

(2) the action is consistent with the entity’s terms of service or other contractual rights.
===

Meaning, if AT&T blocks it's visitors from Democratic Undergound, & AT&T reasonably believes that Democratic Undergound is dedicated to stealing intellectual property (there are tons of news articles excerpted here) and Skinner sues, then a judge should toss the case out without trial.

I signed via another web site. I don't stuff the ballot box; I'm not Republican.
