I've donated to DU for several years. Maybe not alot by some standards but what I could. I've enjoyed what opportunities I've had to share hearts and stars with others.

I have also been the grateful recipient of hearts and stars. It has always left a warm fuzzy feeling. Nothing compares to the kindness of strangers.

Unfortunately my star will probably die a quiet death sometime just before Valentine's day. I'm a long-term unemployed schmuck who is pinching pennies. With a little luck I will have a reliable source of income by then. Or so I hope.

I'm not asking for a star. But I could certainly use some encouragement in that search for a source of income.
