As a human being, what's your first reaction to this photograph?
And if there were a movie and this image was part of the story, do you have any doubt who the good guys would be?

28. America exchanged liberty for temporary safety from what we are told are terrorists
out to get us. Here's what Samuel Adams said about giving up liberty for security:

In a state of tranquillity, wealth, and luxury, our descendants would forget the arts of war* and the noble activity and zeal which made their ancestors invincible. Every art of corruption would be employed to loosen the bond of union which renders our resistance formidable. When the spirit of liberty, which now animates our hearts and gives success to our arms*, is extinct, our numbers will accelerate our ruin and render us easier victims to tyranny.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!

* Note that Adams and the Founding Fathers believed they were engaged in a defensive war against tyranny.

6. Other than the obvious....
a protestor talking animatedly and a police officer ignoring it or at least not reacting and a photographer getting a good angle on the photo to make it almost look like it is something that it isn't.!

17. A protester talking anitatedly to a CIVILIAN police officer who
Edited on Sat Nov-19-11 04:12 PM by sabrina 1
looks an invader from another planet. There is a man on the ground, the robo cop from Star Wars is jabbing an unarmed WOMAN in the chest with a weapon.

Looks like what it is to me, and looks like all the other extremely disturbing signs that we have lost this country. What we have seen over the past several weeks, the violence against citizens by heavily armed, robo cops in riot gear who start a riot each time they show up, tells us we do not have a civilian police force anymore.

The police are now a threat to the American people, having brutalized, nearly killed and wounded so many peaceful American citizens on the orders of, well, that is what we do not yet know. Who is controlling these coordinated tactics and where did they get these silly outfits which belong in a movie, not on our streets where people are exercising their rights, unarmed and peacefully.

We also know our Government has been silent as their people have been attacked as if they were a foreign enemy invader. That tells us that the government is complicit with this assault on the American people.

18. "The people most likely to start a riot are the ones who came dressed for it"
They'd get perfect cooperation if they'd get rid of the Robocop suits. Once they dress like Darth Vader, it's all over, they've allied themselves with the 1%.

That pretty much sums it up. The irony is that it is OUR money that gave them the fancy robo-armor that makes them feel safe enough to violate some civil rights.
