That is, the Republicans. The conservatives. The regressives. The reactionaries.
You see, they aren't going anywehere. They are asking the same questions previous conservatives have been asking for a long time. Granted we gave them perfectly good answers, but they didn't give a shit. they just asked the same fucking question again.
Porn, civil rights, oversight, transparency, freedom. They are categorically against these things.
They want the old system. Life before the "Warren Court."
Earl Warren ran a SCOTUS that made some very key decisions aobut our liberty.
Besides Brown v Board of Ed there was Loving v Virginia, Miller v California, Roe v Wade, Baker v Carr, Reynolds v Sims, Wesberry v Sanders, Brady v Maryland, Mapp v Ohio, Miranda v Arizona, Escobedo v Illinois, Gideon v Wainwright, Katz v United States, Terry v Ohio, New York Times Co. v Sullivan, Brandenburg v Ohio, Yates v United States, Roth v United States, Jacobellis v Ohio, Memoirs v Massachusetts, Tinker v Des Moines School District, Engel v Vitale, Abington School District v Schempp, Sherbert v Verner, Griswold v Connecticut, Trop v Dulles, and Robinson v California.
This is no small feat. This is the direct application of our Constitution to law. Ever since then, conservatives have been trying to reverse these.
And they have been working at it for a while.
They want us subservient. They want us to be happy sheep on the way to the slaughterhouse.
And I worry that they will win - not because of their numbers: they are a fringe minority. But because the squeaky wheel gets oiled.
