That is, the Republicans. The conservatives. The regressives. The reactionaries.

You see, they aren't going anywehere. They are asking the same questions previous conservatives have been asking for a long time. Granted we gave them perfectly good answers, but they didn't give a shit. they just asked the same fucking question again.

Porn, civil rights, oversight, transparency, freedom. They are categorically against these things.

They want the old system. Life before the "Warren Court."

Earl Warren ran a SCOTUS that made some very key decisions aobut our liberty.

Besides Brown v Board of Ed there was Loving v Virginia, Miller v California, Roe v Wade, Baker v Carr, Reynolds v Sims, Wesberry v Sanders, Brady v Maryland, Mapp v Ohio, Miranda v Arizona, Escobedo v Illinois, Gideon v Wainwright, Katz v United States, Terry v Ohio, New York Times Co. v Sullivan, Brandenburg v Ohio, Yates v United States, Roth v United States, Jacobellis v Ohio, Memoirs v Massachusetts, Tinker v Des Moines School District, Engel v Vitale, Abington School District v Schempp, Sherbert v Verner, Griswold v Connecticut, Trop v Dulles, and Robinson v California.

This is no small feat. This is the direct application of our Constitution to law. Ever since then, conservatives have been trying to reverse these.

And they have been working at it for a while.

They want us subservient. They want us to be happy sheep on the way to the slaughterhouse.

And I worry that they will win - not because of their numbers: they are a fringe minority. But because the squeaky wheel gets oiled.

1. You are right. They will keep getting more aggressive also. They just
will not shut up and no media calls them out on their aggression and horrible behavior.

2. We've got a pretty darn loud squeaky wheel ourselves now.
With a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

Bless the youth of the Occupy Movement!

I appreciate everyone, of every age and every background being part of that squeaky wheel, but the kids give it energy and volume.

:bounce:

5. Never. I unabashedly snarl
I am never afraid of mewling and pretending to be a victim. That's because I don't victimize others. That's the Republican MO - cry victim and victimize everyone else. I don't play that.

I say BRING IT.

6. Roe v Wade?
That was 1973, when Warren Burger was Chief Justice.

8. Your job is to stand up to them and say 'not while I have breath in my body'
If we all do that it won't happen.

9. I would like to think
that an all-time low of a 9% approval rating across the board speaks directly to this...whether they want to admit to it or not. The system IS broke. Now the question boils down to a matter of pride.

Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?
