My five year old daughter has a box of coins.
She calls it her treasure. She grabs a ball out of her toy box and says: "Want this ball?" I say: "Sure. You wanna play?" She says: "It costs three dollars." Me: "I don't have three dollars." She says: "I'll loan you three dollars." She brings me three coins and hands them over. I give them back to her. She hands me the ball and says: "You owe me three dollars."

She sold me something I didn't want or need and left me in debt. Wall Street would be proud.

I'm scared.

10. She is oddly obsessed with how much everything costs
I'd prefer to get paid in hugs though. This is why I'll never be rich...

4. ask her how much of her profit she thinks she owes in taxes to support
the commons for her food, shelter and clothing, utilities etc.? Don't want her growing up to be a Bloomburg or a teabagger.

9. I know!
That would be a good thing to point out. Maybe I can work that in next time she plays the treasure game. :)

7. Enlightenment comes in mysterious ways!
This small treasure-based transaction is quite the lesson.
