Chunk of LA cliff, street slide into Pacific

LOS ANGELES — A large chunk of a Los Angeles street and the coastal bluff it sat on have crumbled into the ocean amid heavy rains.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said in a statement that a section of Paseo Del Mar in the San Pedro area that for months had been creeping toward the ocean collapsed on Sunday as a storm struck Southern California.

The mayor says there were no injuries and no property was damaged.

p.s. Folks have always said California would someday fall into the ocean, guess they were correct!

1. Would fall? Has been falling. There's neighborhoods where this has been happening for decades.
The house gets near the edge, you condemn it and build a new one a little further back, not too far or you lose the view.

2. Usually during every rainy season here there is some
cliff areas that slide all the way down, either into the ocean or onto a street down below.
