Freshman GOP Rep(and maybe 2nd) To Carry Concealed Firearm In Aftermath Of Arizona Shooting
At least one more member of Congress will now be taking security measures into their own hands after the shooting in Arizona, as freshman Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) says she'll be carrying a concealed weapon in her home district.

"I have one. And I'll be carrying," she told The Charlotte Observer.

The Observer reports that Ellmers has had a concealed-carry permit since February 2010.

Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.), a onetime hunter, is also considering returning to her gunslinging ways.

"I've been thinking of it for some time and haven't gotten around to it," Myrick said, according to The Observer. "I'm a pretty good shot. Most women are."

1. This violent hate speech has to stop.
Her statements only serve to enrage people and do no good whatsoever.

3. No, but actually being armed makes those around her less secure.
If some nutcase tried to shoot her and, unlikely, she were able to shoot back, who knows how many of her constituents she would kill?

Well, that's one congresswoman whose meetings I'll never attend... as I simply don't like to witness violent "accidents".
