UC Davis chancellor a Bush appointee

Linda Katehi, the University of California-Davis Chancellor under rhetorical fire for ordering police to evict student protesters on Friday, came to lead the school thanks to an appointment by President George W. Bush.

Katehi was selected by Bush to chair the Committee on the National Medal of Science. She currently receives a salary of $400,000 per year from UC Davis, an increase from the $356,000 she received from the University of Illinois.

Her husband, Spyros Tseregounis, is a professor at UC Davis in the Department for Chemical Engineering.

That she was NMS chair might have figured in her appointment at UCD, but that appointment as chancellor was a California decision.

7. What business does the college have in paying her that

outrageous salary?? No wonder the tuition is so high at colleges if they all do that...and that's just one person's salary.
