The coming American Spring...
It's getting colder in the northern climes in this nation. The OWS protesters need our support more than ever.

It's going to be a very hard winter for many of them.

If our support and their stalwart dedication make it through this winter, I suspect what blossoms in the spring will be like nothing we have seen yet.

This is just the beginning, the early days of a mass people movement. Those brave souls who tough it out this winter will be that much more empowered come the spring.

Lend your support, lend your dollars, lend your blankets.

They walk the walk, the very least we can do is help them keep walking.

We are the 99%.

3. It's cold. They're not allowing anyone to sleep at our "people's plaza,"
but now that it's in the 20's at night, nobody would want to sleep on the wind-whipped government center plaza; most have warm homes to go to. (And the homeless do have shelters and other structures that they take advantage of--the same kind of places they have always used.)

BUT they do need to have all belongings "attended to" 24 hours a day, or else they "will be removed."

This morning, around 4:30 AM, as I was driving home from another exhausting 10 hour work shift, I saw one lonely guy pacing around all of Occupy Minneapolis' stuff. He was obviously a designated attendee. He was well-dressed for the cold, but still, he looked chilly.

I'm thinking next time, I'll have some warm winter gear in my bag, and I'll park my car and pay the meter*, and I'll offer to stand watch for 20-30 minutes, while they warm up in my car. With my nocturnal work/sleep habits, and my warm car, maybe I have more to offer than I previously realized.

(*Desperate for every penny in this "don't tax the 'job creators' world," the city has recently started enforcing the parking meters 24 hours a day near the jail, city hall, and Occupy Minneapolis.)
