NFL Player - "get a life or kill urself"
ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins receiver Jabar Gaffney is downplaying his tweet to a Dallas Cowboys fan to "get a life or kill urself."

Gaffney directed profane tweets at the fan after the Redskins lost 27-24 in overtime to the Cowboys on Sunday.

When the fan taunted Gaffney over the Redskins' losing record, Gaffney responded: "3-7 ain't a record to be proud of I'm just proud I ain't you get a life or kill urself."

Gaffney later tweeted that he didn't really want the fan to kill himself.

On Monday, Gaffney said: "It's something that got took out of 'text. Cowboy fans, that's how they are. I was just telling the dude: 'Y'all won. All right, leave me alone. Don't talk to me.' And that's all it was."

The NFL and the Redskins both have talked to Gaffney about his tweet, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Having given his explanation to reporters, Gaffney went back on Twitter and stoked the issue again.

"They say I can't tell people to kill themselves didn't know freedom of speech had limitations," he tweeted.

2. Even though I hate football this seems like an overreaction to me
I mean, sports fans on opposing teams talk shit all the time. I have heard and read much worse than this, this is relatively mild. Don't see the big deal made about it.

4. He'll probably get fined
But given the level of vitriol hurled at these guys, I don't see it as a big deal
It's the Redskins and the Cowboys

8. Freedom of speech doesn't apply in all situations
That's why there are laws against slander, libel, etc.

9. LMFAO...
For some reason I find it funny that a person who gets paid to play a kids game for a living thinks someone else needs to get a life.
