Thompson will officially announce on Dec. 1
Former governor Tommy Thompson is planning a Dec. 1 kickoff for his U.S. Senate campaign.

Thompson emailed supporters over the weekend to say the announcement will be made at Weldall Manufacturing in Waukesha.

Here is some of what Thompson had to say in his email:

"Washington is broken, and the America we know and love is in trouble. High unemployment, record debt, the expansion of government and the erosion of our Constitutional freedoms are threatening American exceptionalism.

1. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin released a statement in reaction to Thompson's planned formal
announcement.

"Tommy Thompson has avoided disclosing the millions of dollars he has made lobbying on behalf of corporations that have made health care more expensive, made Wall Street more unaccountable and which have shipped American jobs overseas," the statement said. "He's been shaking down these same corporate contributors in Washington - without the sunshine that's owed the people of Wisconsin. He was right to say that Washington has changed him - and it hasn't been for the better."

3. Thompson dropped the ball horribly by deliberately missing
the first anthrax victim and passing it off as "natural" anthrax. He carried the gop's water then, and he'll carry it now even if it involves lying his ass off.
