Capsaicins inflame the airways, causing swelling and restriction. and much hotter than the pepper spray sold commercially to ward off would-be rapists. Supposedly, according to Thom, it could induce heart failure. Ellen Ratner on Hartmann's show said there was another pepper spray incident over the week-end in Oklahoma and the story is now breaking.

And as a person with asthma I know the risks I take every time I cover OWS. As a former medic I also know the decom procedures.
