I'm going to see Michael Moore, tonight |
|
He is here in Flint and will be reading from his latest book. It is a free event and all proceeds from the book sales, tonight, go to the benefit of the Flint Public Library.
Can't wait!

4. He's fantastic in person. I've really enjoyed the few times that I've seen in San Francisco. |

6. Lucky you. He's been waiting for people to join him in his |
|
work exposing the corrupt system we live under for a long time.
I remember when he made Capitalist, A Love Story, he said that if we all did not step forward and join him in trying to change things, he could not keep going alone anymore and that would probably be his last documentary. He was threatened, he was smeared and too often some who should have been defending him, joined in that propaganda which we now know was paid for in millions.
He's a true patriot.

I first met him many, many years ago, when he was with the Flint VOice, a local 'underground' newspaper in the 70's. Then, again, when a group I used to belong to presented him with a Paul Wellstone Award. I remember that night he stayed around until he talked with everyone who came up to him. The funny thing is, the 'in person' Michael is a very quiet, shy, sweet guy. But once he gets in front of a group, the passion really kicks in.
Along with doing the reading, he is also going to 'comment' on current events, so it should be a really memorable evening.

9. He is very passionate about social justice and is really a |
|
brilliant man who had the courage, during the Bush years when just opposing the war was likely to get you labeled a traitor, to tell the truth. That took a lot of guts.
Hope to meet him some day, I bet he's great to talk to and not surprised to hear he talked to everyone. :-)

7. We saw him Friday night at UConn |
|
He was great. Very inspiring, but a hilarious storyteller. A lot of audience participation. We drove almost two hours in heavy traffic, but well worth it.
Enjoy!

12. Kewpee! So few people know about Kewpee! |
|
I think the original building is still downtown Flint - although it is a Halo Burger, now. The old time Flinties still refer to it as a Kewpee burger.
