For the foodie who has everything comes the most luxurious mince pie ever created.

The culinary delight, estimated to be worth £3,000, is currently on show at a London shopping centre.

The pie uses a mix of traditional ingredients from recipes dating back to the 17th century.

Added ingredients include the highest-grade platinum leaf, holy water from Lourdes to bind the pastry and wash all the ingredients, vanilla beans and cinnamon from eastern spice markets.

Highly prized ambergris sugar derived from sperm whale secretions has also been used.

In 2006, a chef in northwestern England created the world's most expensive pie. Based on a traditional steak and mushroom pie, the dish includes $1,000 worth of Wagyu beef fillet, $3,330 in Chinese matsutake mushrooms (which are so rare that they are grown under the watchful eyes of armed guards), two bottles of 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild at a cost of about $4,200 each, as well as black truffles and gold leaf. The pie serves eight with a total cost around $15,900, or $1,990 per slice, which includes a glass of champagne.
