I read an article a while back that said the conventional categories of "liberal" and "conservative" aren't really adequate explanations for the strains in American politics today.
The author suggested there are five points of view represented in public debate in the US now: neoliberal globalism, social democratic liberalism, populist nationalism, libertarian isolationism and Green Malthusianism.
Do you agree with the premise? Do you see yourself in any of those five categories?

And he s correct. It's been this way forever, but now we are starting to talk about it. If we had oh proportional representation the duopoly would break into at least five major parties.
