American internet service providers are blocking the American Censorship.org site
http://youranonnews.tumblr.com/post/13196585412/list-of-internet-service-providers-that-are-blocking

And yes, it's blocked for me. Here's the link to test - http://americancensorship.org/

It's like an appetizer of what will happen when SOPA becomes law.

81. Just click on the link or type it into the address field of your browser.
If it comes up to the American Censorship homepage, it works.

If you get an error message such as "page cannot be found" or a redirection to a search engine, then there's a problem.

20. Illegal censorship...
Attempts to e-mail the "owners" at press@fightforthefuture.org are also being denied. SOPA/PIP have NOT passed, therefore ISPs are illegally restricting access to websites and ignoring FCC regulations. The site has not been shut down by the FBI or any other Dept of Justice branch, meaning the site should be available for full access to ALL USERS.

I, at this moment, am still able to access the site, its parent site, and other sister sites. However, this could change at a moments notice. We MUST contact our representatives and DEMAND justice.

28. Thank you.
Been lurking around for about three years now, just never got around to posting haha. It's sad that it's in a post like this and the ones that have been making their rounds for the past few days... This will only feed the Occupy movement. This will only make the true freedom-loving individuals in this nation feel even more disdain for our current political climate...

I feel a revolution a-brewin'.

has become more than just a little resistance... Now its the most powerful political association in America. GOP? Pfft... DCCC? Hah!
Neither of these three-ring circuses can even begin to reflect the will of the people. The Democrat and Republican parties have become two sides to the same twisted coin.

I seem to remember that when Egypt shut off it's internet services during the arab spring to censor it's protesters, there was a group talking about buying a communications satellite to provide internet with as a possible workaround to that kind of thing happening again?

Anyone remember this?

46. The DNS server...
that your ISP uses may be under lease from a larger one. The larger one may have blocked traffic and then your ISP switched to another. If you have a static IP, its as simple as changing the DNS server your modem uses.

49. Something similar from the UK
BT ordered to block links to Newzbin 2 website

A High Court judge has ruled that BT must block access to a website which provides links to pirated movies.

Newzbin 2 is a members-only site which aggregates a large amount of the illegally copied material found on Usenet discussion forums.

The landmark case is the first time that an ISP has been ordered to block access to such a site.

It paves the way for other sites to be blocked as part of a major crackdown on piracy.

58. Charter Communications, Buies Creek - not blocked.
:wtf: is going on? Why are certain ISPs in certain locations blocking this site?

66. Works fine for me, which is always the case with these posts
The fake panic makes the whole issue seem like paranoid folly. I'd rethink the entire method.

71. Makes me wonder...
How much of the failure of some is caused by some browser privacy add-on. I have one such add-on, which I use to keep Facebook from following me around. Unfortunately, it causes problems when I try to access some legitimate sites, like Recyclebank. Sometimes, I have to disable it.

74. I have a paranoid pal or two that every couple of weeks call up
to tell me 'they' have removed all information about Subject X from the internet. While they tell me, I do a search and forward them tons of articles on Subject X. They enjoy the drama I think, or they just suck as searching....
On this issue, there are two extreme sides which I do not agree with much. One favors this bill as it stands, the other favors no regulation at all and the freedom to rip off those who create or own entertainments and other things. I agree with neither extreme. I also note that each time a post like this is made, there are many posters I've never seen before making the same claim, it's blocked. They are here posting 'oh my God the US is blocked, Canada is our only hope' which would be fine if true. All the people posting 'not blocked for me' are ignored by those who claim it is 'scary' that it is blocked.
I'll assume for the OP's sake that this site is blocked for some, somewhere. It is a huge mistake to tell me I can not open that which I can open, and then try make a point with a falsehood. I lose trust, and figure those posting such things have financial gain to make via the panic and all.

77. I hear you.
I tend to be a skeptic. From my experience, half the time, a problem is created by some innocuous cause, rather than the state one. It just frustrates the hell out of me that some automatically assume their problem is caused by Subject X, rather than something else, without exploring other options. But, I was trained in science, so that sort of thing comes natural for me.
