"Occupy protesters decry Obama's 'silence' on arrests"
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/11/occupy-protesters-decry-obamas-silence-on-arrests/1

Now we know why those protesters heckled President Obama yesterday in New Hampshire.

After the president's speech, one of the hecklers handed Obama a note criticizing his "silence" over the arrest of "over 4,000 peaceful protestors" at Occupy Wall Street-type movements across the country.

Thanks to Associated Press photographer Charles Dharapak, we can read the entire note:

"Mr. President: Over 4000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. While bankers continue to destroy the American economy. You must stop the assault on our 1st amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable. Banks got bailed out. We got sold out."

2. He's too busy going after med. marijuana to care
about civil liberties. After all, we're talking about the Goldmann-Sachs President here. What do you think Tim Geithner says about OWS?

3. Here's what one of the protesters had to say:
Tom LaValley, 23, who described himself as a member of Occupy New Hampshire, told reporters later that about 20 demonstrators had stood in line Monday to obtain tickets. He was complimentary of Obama’s response.

“He looked us in the eye, let us speak,” LaValley said. “He didn’t drag us out, didn’t have security come get us.”

7. I know
"Thank you sir for the crumbs you so gratiously sweep to the floor for us to scavenge."

...unless every protester spews anti-Obama sentiments they don't matter.

Were you there?

4. If they are doing such an important and historical thing
then why are they so concerned about what the President says and does?

Sounds like they think the President is all powerful. If they don't like our system, why do they want its biggest symbol to defer to them? And it seems what they don't like about our system is that no one figure controls everything and can just order the bankers or the capitalists or whoever the bad guys are to do what they want him to order them to do.

8. they were dispelling the myth that the President is unaware or too removed to know about the police
brutality.

that ONE image of President Obama holding the note removes 5 degrees of separation in an instant.

not only was it historical, it was BRILLIANT and respectful.

6. Occupiers were fine with PBO response.

This was quoted yesterday and I see today that the Wallsten/Montgomery duo has now removed it from the article. Imagine that! Not good to have an occupier stand up for the President, might make people question the so-called disdain they're supposed to have for him. Shame on Wallsten/Montgomery for being chickens.
