Call 'em what they are: MOOCHES
Yep, another tale of a facebook friendship ending in flames. I would say, "badly", but inTHIS instance, good riddance to bad rubbish. So some chick that I went to high school with posts "I wonder if these wall street protestors know what a joke they are. Do they even work for a living?" To which I responded, "That's the REASON the protest. Their jobs were outsourced while executives gave themselves bonuses". She tells me it's "her wall". i tell her I agree with her, and we all have to live with our consciences anyway.

Then...

Dummy LIGHTS UP about how SHE LIVES IN A BETTER NEIGHBORHOOD THAN ME (she is from this neighborhood, lives in a condo that was converted from apts, while I bought a little cape in my hometown, but that's beside the point) and HER TAXES GO TO SUPPORT LAZINESS. At which point I said that *my* property taxes went to support education and upkeep and if HER tax dollars are ONLY spent on LAZINESS, she'd better make sure she paves her own way to work, tac dollars notwithstanding.

And then it occurred to me...

Wait a minute, when Dummy went to college, she got a Pell Grant (GOVERNMENT HANDOUT), her home is financed by an FHA loan (GOVERNMENT HANDOUT). I told her to go find PRIVATE FUNDING for her fucking home, she shouldn't expect a HANDOUT from the government. I told her that her government was there for her and everyone else seeking a higher education, AND THAT IS A share MOMENT, while she languishes in a COMPARE world. If she thinks it is worth her time and effort to scrutinize everything on the grocery store conveyer belt that food stamps might buy and it's THAT big a fucking deal, she should go on welfare too, so she can live all high and large. "I'm not a mooch" she said

Oh yes you fucking are.

In fact, Dummy is EVEN MORE A MOOCH than the biggest welfare queen ever figured. She TAKES THAT HANDOUT, and accepts that federally guaranteed loan, and when it is time to pay some taxes to contribute to the system that has been there for her, she has the attitude that "the poor should starve". CLASSIC MOOSH. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, "I deserve, wah, wah" but the minute it is time to contribute, mooches do what moochers do. Complain.

Tell those mooches to stop MOOCHING federal loans and fudning if they think American is worth the very investment WE THE PEOPLE made in those FUCKING MOOCHES to begin with.

Deleted and blocked with pleasure. (and trust, she didn't think she had done' anything wrong)

That is employed.

I wear personal protective gear, breathe air through a hose, and work within high contamination/airborne radioactive areas where surface smears count alpha radiation into millions of disintegrations per minute (dpm).

Of course I want strong government oversight, the continuation of the Dept. of Energy, strong regulations, and independent compliance monitoring by the EPA.

Are these Republican presidential candidates nuts? Perry can't even remember DOE as the third dept he wanted eliminated. But in forgetting, he tried to find an escape route by declaring that EPA should be gutted as well.

Do typical Americans really understand the seriousness of what I am doing? Don't they know the potential catastrophic environmental failure if we do not take the Tri-Party Agreement seriously?

http://www.tri-cityherald.com/2009/05/19/582990/tri-party-agreement-stands-20.html

"Manning had doubts when the agreement was signed that some of the work could be done, such as emptying 53 million gallons of waste stored in underground tanks and moving wastes from older tanks to sturdier double-shell tanks.

"I knew it needed to happen," he said. "But would it really happen? I was not so sure."

By emptying seven tanks so far, Hanford workers have shown it can be done, he said.

The agreement forces DOE to invent the technologies needed for cleanup, he said. That ranges from ways to get high-level radioactive waste out of enclosed underground tanks to building the vitrification plant that will treat radioactive wastes of a complexity and on a scale never attempted before."

Of course I endorse #occupy!

5. LOL, yep. When one of her friends came into the thread and said that his investments made him comfy
I told him that I am not as comfy as long as there is a homeless veteran on the streets or a little old lady who has to choose between medication or food. If he's "comfy" with that, HE'S A FUCKING MOOCH too . :)

18. And as for those investments . . .
Well bully for him, but remember, it's that system of government regulations on the stock market (heard of the SEC?) that prevents some of the scam artists from fleecing investors. Left to their own devices (as we saw in the recent CDO scam of unregulated securities that gave us Big Shitpile), the Big Finance Boyz would game the system to their own benefit and screw investors. If you weren't sufficiently "in the know" or "on the inside," when everything went to hell you'd be left holding an empty bag without recourse.

but then wants to "close the door" to those coming after her.

A "mooch" she is, and a repuke too, I'd wager. Good riddance is right!

10. Basically had the same thing happen to me
Had one "friend" that totally went off on another friend on a thread. Turned out he was over the top right wing trash. Goodbye to him. Another one recently asked for a friend request, I checked out other stuff he posted on other friends boards, found out he was another tea bagging wacko. Keeps saying the OWS is a waste and they should go get jobs, be productive, blah blah blah... No Friend for you... Amazing that there are such clueless people out there. Kinda sad in a way that they have to go through life with their attitudes...

13. I friend em when I find em.
I find it so much easier to aim the gun of logic and malice when they just willingly step into my sights with a target painted on their tiny pointed heads.

But hammering idiots into the ground publicly is a hobby and relaxing for me. It's not everyone's cup o joe.

16. You Went to High School with Her, Right?
Who paid to build that high school? Who paid the teachers, the administrators, the superintendents? Who paid for the books, the lab equipment, the team uniforms, the computers in the classroom, the food in the cafeteria? Who paid for the janitor? Who paid for the electricity, the water in the school?

23. Ya gotta pick your fights.
As an old marine once said to me in regards to deciding if something was worth his time, "I apply the "is this the hill I want to die on question" to every situation, and if the answer is no, then I feel free to walk away with a clear conscience."

When you apply that criteria to life, it makes it easy to decide what is truly important and what isn't. ANd this, clearly, wasn't that important to you. Good on you for recognizing that.
