8. Think I will try that. |

I don't want arguments at Thankgiving dinner and that might confuse them enough to make them quiet.

9. I'll try not to, but while on DU I am decidedly "left of center" |
|
among my relatives I am practically a right wing apostate.
Grandma is a registered socialist, great-grandpa was a communist and my mother will vote democratic in close elections as a nod to political realism, but votes Green or socialist in all other circumstances. My parents spend a lot of time wondering where they went wrong with me. But they love and accept me anyway.
(For the record, on the Pew Research Center's political attitudes survey, I clocked in as slightly left of Gandhi, so I'm not all that "centrist", but I guess it's all compared to the company you keep.)
Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

10. Unfortunately in my family it wasn't just the holidays. |
|
Two of my brothers praised Bush's Iraq war during every Sunday dinner at my Dad's. "Turn it all into glass", "who gives a * about little *'ds". I answered back at first, then just had to get up and leave, but still get blamed for stirring up shit because I was too 'sensitive'. It's hard when your own family thinks this way.
