Pelosi sent me a survey!!! ( and a begging letter) What shall I do with it? |
|
Yep, under the guise of "wanting" me to fill out a "retirement Security survey" there is a form. The very first thing you see on the form is a big CONTRIBUTION checkbox. Then a survey. Then a return envelope but I have to provide the stamp.
This is the very first Pelosi letter I have ever gotten. I am feeling very special here, people.
Hmm..also in the mail is another AARP insurance letter, and it comes WITH postage paid envelope.
Hmmmmmm...

1. Send it back...but be sure to tell her.. |
|
...she's not a real Democrat.
Not like Alan Grayson or Anthony Weiner.
(She still has her seat, for starters.)

2. As a political fundraiser I never included postage paid returns. |
|
It costs a lot of money to do mailings, postage permit or not. While I have always included return envelopes in fundraising mailings, never once have they been postage paid. We always did great with that method of fundraising. Except one time, someone who did a crappy, ineffective mailing. Among other mistakes they did not include a pre-addressed return envelope. Guess how many replied? Zero.
Most people don't want causes they support to squander lots of money on mailings and such. How interesting you would prefer fundraising be more about saving you a stamp than the cause.

No where did I say that, actually. What i WAS pointing out that I got a fund raising letter that was disguised as a survey AND it was the only time I had heard from Pelosi.
To aid reading comprehension..and to clarify: You want money, send me an honest request for money, I will consider it. You want my opinion, send me a survey. don't pretend the first is the 2nd.

7. This has been in use for years. |
|
I've gotten many surveys accompanied with requests for money. Been getting this kind of thing surely since 2000, this is really your very first of these?
Obviously you haven't done fundraising mailings and don't quite get what a huge chunk of change NOT paying the return postage saves.
Seemed to me you're making out like they are trying to dupe you, unlike AARP who at least includes return postage!1! No one's trying to dupe you. Apparently you are also unaware of the value of information/feedback. Even if you just sent that back filled out (but yes, they will still rip you off for the postage, those greedy bastards!1!) they'd be glad of the info.

3. Send money if you wish |
|
but I wouldn't bother with the survey. I doubt that anyone even bothers to look at that. It is just a marketing ploy " look how much I care, send money"

and include a nice note stating that contributing to fundraisers this year is "off the table" in your household.

make a notation (I usually use a hot pink Sharpie) that your contribution(s) will be going to support OWS, Bradley Manning and Scott Olsen... real heroes rather than lip service queens!!
