Is this the ultimate (and most dangerous) infinity pool in the world? The natural water hole perched on the edge of the Victoria Falls

"It is a serious adrenalin rush for the first few minutes. The thought that you may get sucked away from the relatively calm waters of the pool makes you giddy with apprehension, although you would have to stray a fair way out for that to happen.

"If you jump in, it adds to the excitement but you can also get in gently. It's great fun - some people enjoy it quietly, swimming, looking and thinking, while others just keep screaming."

21. When I was younger I was fearless

My first exposure to the dangers of my arrogance was falling about forty feet from a tree. Landed flat on my ass and laughed all the way home. Then there was the airborne maneuver off the front end of a car. They tell me I flew about 30 feet landing face first on a coal ash berm. Then working on a slate roof with like a 60% incline and no support.
These days, I get nervous on anything over a 10 ft drop.

17. I've done dangerous things myself

I've rappelled into deep pits and chimneyed up long chimneys without a belay (I've been a caver most of my life, since the age of 12). But I don't think I'd get any young children involved in any risk-taking unless they were really motivated towards the activity and showed a very healthy respect for safety. From the photos, I'm not sure how real the danger is here, whether it's no more dangerous than going to the top of a tall skyscraper, but I'd drag kids along only if I really knew what I was doing and how they would react.

24. I think the problem would be less fear of heights

or even drowning or falling, but whether the water was warm enough for me to get into it! Anything less than the warmth of a swimming pool would be too cold for me nowadays!

I would definitely check out the water current in that pool, and its history, though, before I would venture too close to the edge.

I think a lot depends on your viewpoint. I know some people who are from non-coastal parts of the world are terrified of swimming in the ocean. How many of us could conceive spending much time on the side of a mountain skiing down the steepest incline in the world? If you lived in that place, you won't think much of the risks, because you'd have been introduced to the dangers at a very young age.
