Reply to "friends" complaining of Bachmann's treatment on Fallon's show |
|
Yes, Michele Bachmann deserves an apology for the playing of an inappropriate, sexist song to introduce her on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Show.
Michelle Obama deserves an apology for continued sexist, racist, and inappropriate comments made on air by Rush Limbaugh. (And by Beck, Hannity, Coulter, and the rest of the right wing "media" folks.)
-Rush has called her "uppity".
-Repeatedly refers to her as “Moochelle” and Michelle “My Belle” Obama
-Played “I Like Big Butts” for a fake introduction of “MOOchelle” Obama. Saying the only difference between the use of the insulting songs for Bachmann and her is one not true and one is. The big butt song shows “MOOchelle” is a woman of substance. (Someone please explain to him Mrs. Obama didn’t pick the music for Fallon.)
-Said she has a "Self-Centered, Arrogant, Controlling Character Disorder" and "Grandiose, Dictatorial Urges”
-Called her a hypocrite for promoting her healthy eating program, because “Our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you.” -Said Obama’s limousine weighs 8 tons – without Michelle in it.
This behavior is allowed to go on without apology or apparent concern from anyone.
A complaint from the White House would be called playing the race card or liberal whining.
Someone explain to Bachmann that what happened to her is just good old conservative humor. If a conservative had done it to a liberal, he'd get a medal.

15. She and the talking heads had to be told she was insulted |
|
they had no fucking idea. If no one had said anything the joke would have passed only known by the people who knew what song it was...

I love how easy it is for THEM to pick out sexist, inappropriate treatment of their women, but can't quite see it for ours.

9. Your argument basically reduces Michelle Obama and |
|
Michelle Bachmann to props in a battle between men. You notice neither Michelle is throwing that sexist shit at each other.

11. Michelle Obama is not running for any office. |
|
And Michelle Obama has not asked for any one to apologize. She has been silent on this. She again demonstrates true class.
Of course, the Bachmann campaign is complaining about Fallon's band. That is fine. His band crossed the line.
Perhaps, the Bachmann folks could also ask "Jabba the Rush" to apologize for his endless, and repeated attacks on Michelle Obama.
Agree?
Not that this would ever happen.

12. At first I laughed - then the bleeding heart liberal in me truly felt bad |
|
I would feel so humiliated if it were me and that was being done to me (the idea of everyone laughing behind my back - makes me think of my worst nightmare).
Its one thing when she says something stupid - plenty of room to slam her there.
1) we don't have to sink to RW tactics to prove why she is unqualified
2) this just feeds the ridiculous notion of a liberal bias in media
3) its in poor taste and insulting to women - if I would be offended if it was done to Pelosi or here in MN Sen Klobacher I have to apply the same standard to Bachmann

it is difficult to teach class even to liberals. Glad you realized it. Some won't understand what you said, and you are right.
