Government CAN solve problems
Today my car broke down. On the Sunol Grade. If you commute in the bay area, you might know this spot.

There are quite a few bridges through the valley. I got stuck on one. With the kids.

I had to stop, with hazards, on one. It scared the shit out of me, a mere 1 foot away from fast passing trucks, cars and semis.

California law now states that CHP will call a tow truck, at state expense, to tow cars out of danger.

That's what the CHP did - and it took us out of danger.

This is government WORKING.

This is why I am a Democrat.

4. So now I am curious as to who brought this law up in the first place? And saying
that I am happy that they did.

7. I grew up in a rural area, where much government was local, and it did all kinds of stuff.
I'm trying to picture modern freepers in a rural water association, attempting to to hire a professional to run the system, and I'm picturing everyone with cholera a year later.

I've watched governments build roads where there weren't any. I've watched them build dams that still supply power to this very computer. I've watched them replace hole-in-the-ground "landfills" with recycling and proper waste disposal.

File "government doesn't work" with "flat earth" and "4004 BC".
