But mostly just cover your ass propaganda stuff. Pretty pitiful actually. Brian Williams, to his credit, came right out and asked War criminal Bush I why he didn't come right out and admit that Gulf War I was about OIL. Bush had the propaganda ready and waiting saying that it was about "right and wrong" ignoring the obvious fact that if it had happened to Angola, Timor or Equador we would have hardly noticed.

You could see Cheney squirm. The best line was when Bush I said he used to turn off the TV. He was obviously as disgusted as what his son was doing as we were.

14. It's more pandering to wingnuts, like COURIC hosting LIMBOsevic at her debut |

to reach out to wingnuts. "The Wedding Cake Guy" (Brian WILLIAMS) does it by playing up NASCAR. I seldom to-almost-never see the network newscasts, but a few months ago I was sort of stunned at The Wedding Cake Guy's presentation. He's funny and affable in his talk show appearances, but on his own show he looked like a GRIND, like going through the motions of news reader, and there was little hard news, rapidly going off on health/personality segments.
As for the pandering to wingnuts, CNN's Wolf and (back then) Judy WOODRUFF started doing it after years of being accused of being "Liberal Media" types. They started going totally soft on Rethugs and then being BRUTAL with Dem guests. I call it "The Tired Liberal" syndrome. They were BEATEN, tired of being bashed.

Cheney tried to blame the Clinton Administration for encouraging (unsuccessful) uprisings against Saddam & someone else cut in & said "No, we did that." Poor Cheney...deprived of an opportunity to make a swipe at Democratic presidents by someone on his own team.
:spray:
