Free Homeland Security Toys = Expensive Lawsuits for Cities
In spite of the Republicans' best efforts, the Constitution still carries some weight.
I hope it was fun while it lasted.

1. And I hope that the police force will take a look at what is appropriate
as weapons regarding citizens of the USA. Especially peaceful citizens. We have a bunch of cowards (afraid of their own shadows) people in DHS and they are acting like we are all enemies of the state. We cannot have both democracy and authoritarianism. It does not work. DHS should not be identifying who the enemy is - their job should be to identify soft targets such as nukes and make plans to reinforce the defenses of those targets. They should also be looking at disaster survival issues for a future economic collapse or the end of oil etc. I for one would like to see them working on making sure we have supplies to ride us through the aftermath of a disaster. EX: enough medication on hand for the needs of the sick in local areas. At the moment meds are made out of the country and we trust that we can get them when we need them. I call that a security issue.

2. Greed creates guilt
Guilt creates fear.

Fear leads to pepper spray. :)

3. DHS should be done away with. End the fear. Be brave for a change. We've spent 5 trillion...
to fight a gang of about 3000. Now we have a DHS that will try to perpetuate itself indefinitely for its jobs. Oh and the cost of that is secret too. ...and we have a military crying for more money at the cost of our economic well being and social security. They can shove their fear tactic up their asses. I'm more afraid of other drivers than some terrorist. We have to become rational for a change instead of letting them push this fear shit down our throats.

4. I think I agree but is there any agency that is making plans for future
disasters such as climate change, oil depletion, etc.? I ignore the fear factor when it comes to terrorism but then that is easy for me - I live in a rural area where the biggest threat is a snow storm like the Oct. 31 one. So I would not miss the DHS. I also suspect it is already too late to get rid of it. Doesn't take long before a program like that becomes one of the economic props in our economy.
