Now it's Fred Phelps vs Hollywood!

From Monsters and Critics.com: Pastor Fred Phelps, will Hollywood direct its rage at the Sundance spoiler?. It looks like Phelps is going to take his horrorshow congregation to the Sundance Film Festival to protest a horror show:

Airline critic and filmmaker Kevin Smith's new horror flick Red State has put the Kansas pastor on high alert, as his group has released a statement that they plan on attending the Film Festival and protesting amid the Hollywood elite. The same group who bristled publicly when Ricky Gervais held up a mirror at the Golden Globes as host, and took the mickey out of several ripe, low hanging fruit recently.

The film: Red State, that has the infamous Mr. Phelps panties all in a twist is described by IMDB as: "A horror film in which a group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America." Red State supposedly features a Phelps-like character, the murderous Pastor Albin Cooper.

Kevin Smith is hit or miss, but any movie that takes aim at Phelps and other right-wing fundamentalists is going to get me in the theater.
