1. The repeal passed the House on a more-or-less.... |
|

...party line vote -- 3 Dems crossed over.
All we need now is for the Senate to pass it with a veto-proof margin by a grand righto-leftist coalition, and we can finally get to work on single payer, once that crap ACA is killed off.
Single payer is such a good idea, I predict even Republicans will have to vote for it, or lose their seats in a 2012 tidal wave. It'll pass itself.
Seriously.

4. If HCR is repealed, the result will NOT be single payer |
|
Last year Bernie Sanders said there were less than 10 Senators who would vote for it - and at least one who was likely in that count _ Dodd - is gone.
It can't "pass itself" - Congressmen and Senators have to vote for it - and I suspect that Sanders, who introduced single payer legislation knows more than you on the likelihood of it passing.

5. But it's so logical... |
|
...I blame Obama. All Obama has to do is bully-FDR-pulpit-JFK-arm-LBJ-twist-HST-primary-Big Dog-challenge-want-it-bad-enough.
He has to want it a little badder enough-er because of the mid-term election results, but hey, it's still all up to him, isn't it?

6. I agree that if you look at other places that have it, it is cheaper and more efficient |
|
There are however far too many people who are ideologically against it. No amount of arm twisting would have gotten 60 votes for it - and that is what was needed. Remember that they could not even get Medicare buy in for those over 55 who wanted it. (Note that is less in two ways - choice and only for a one decade cohort.)
