On Thursday, Zoo Director Dennis Kelly and the Secretary General of the China Wildlife Conservation Association Zang Chunlin signed a new Giant Panda cooperative research and breeding agreement for five more years.

Giant Panda Tian Tian has a bamboo snack January 20, 2011 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Zoo in Washington, DC. The Smithsonians National Zoological Park and the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) signed a new loan agreement, the Giant Panda Cooperative Research and Breeding Agreement. Under the agreement, with the United States, China is letting the giant pandas stay at the zoo for another five years.

Giant Panda Tian Tian enjoys a fruitcicle January 20, 2011 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Zoo in Washington, DC. The snack is made with apples and pears frozen in apple juice. Tian Tian was on hand for the ceremony to sign a new loan agreement, the Giant Panda Cooperative Research and Breeding Agreement between the US and China which allows the giant pandas to remain at the zoo for five more years.
