Brutal Drought Dries up Mexico's Farms - Reuters
Another perfect opportunity for the Republicons to trot out their corporately funded climate lies...

MEXICAN DROUGHT

"(Reuters) - Mexico is being battered its worst drought in seven decades, which has devastated farm life and is expected to continue into next year.

The lack of rainfall has affected almost 70 percent of the country...

"...Crops that cover tens of thousands of acres have been lost this year and roughly 450,000 cattle have died in arid pastures. Crucial dams, typically full at this time of year, are at 30 to 40 percent of capacity.

"This is very serious," Ignacio Rivera, an official at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, told Reuters.

2. And how many of those crops that failed were destined for US markets?
There go our prices up again.

Better start farming our lawns. NOW.

3. And learn how to eat what's in season too.
And that's coming from someone guilty of enjoying a few yellow squash in November.

4. Really? Who would have thought?
After all, it's not like Mexico borders Texas, which had a much more widely publicized drought this summer, or anything... :sarcasm:
