Ya know, One-Percenters, it ain't all that hard to get into a little austerity here. |
|
I'm not getting the new Ferrari this year.
I'm passing on the new yacht, and even planning to do without one at all this year. (Unless you count my little 30 year-old aluminum fishing boat as a yacht.)
We're planning to spend less than $200 a plate when we eat out this year.
I'm turning my entire salary bonus over to charity.
I'm not even going to pay the country club dues this year.
Now if I can do all that, why are you guys so freaked out about paying a few percent more in taxes?

1. My god, what a dreadful existence you describe. |

I mean, other than a lack of ferrari. Where would the chaufeur sit? In the trunk? Ha ha, but seriously, you aren't suggesting i drive a "ford" or some other plebian vehicle, are you? What would the valet think???
I already have a yacht, and was not intending on replacing it until next year, or the year after, so we are even in that respect.
I also spend considerably less than $200/plate, if you don't include the in-house chef we hire, so we are kinda even there also.
I also turn my bonus check over to charity. It is a foundation run by my son and wife (keeps them busy...and paid!) that studies the intricacies of international finance and the effects on global commerce.
As far as the country club, my dues there actually pays for itself! I know! It's hard to believe! But with all the insider information I get there, I couldn't afford to quit!!!
So you see, we aren't really all that diffeerent...just...different.
signed, someone who would spit in your face if you were on fire. (no really, i would)
