55. The camp still stands as of 8:00 a.m. this morning and LAPD have

shown no sign of entering the camp, even though the Mayor's deadline to leave passed 8 hours ago. Several thousand people converged on City Hall last night and early this morning to reinforce the encamped Occupiers.

A few protesters, acting autonomously (outside the scope of OLA GA's authorization) occupied the intersection of 1st and Main, sitting down in the street and refusing to leave after the LAPD made its "illegal assembly" announcement. Latest reports are that 4 were arrested.

Occupy Los Angeles is a 'leaderless movement,' and individuals and groups are always free to act autonomously.

It was scary as all get-out down there last night, though. Mrs. Coalition and I hooked up with Fire Walk and the three of us tested police lines at several intersections where LAPD in full riot gear were deployed. We finally beat a tactical retreat (akin to Mao's Long March) to get outside the LAPD cordon. More on that later.

For now, please understand this is a MAJOR VICTORY for OLA, the people of LA and the Occupy Movement and 99%. A request for an injunction had already been filed electronically in federal court on Friday and today attorneys for the National Lawyers Guild will be seeking a Temporary Restraining Order in state court, if I understand correctly.

Funniest sign I saw last night (worn around the neck by a protester named 'John'): cardboard with two nickels taped to it and the following: "If I had a nickel for every lie the government told me, I'd be in the 1%." :) John said he was deluged by people wanting to give him a nickel :)

#Occupy gets hit, and adapts, gets hit, and adapts. It's good and I look forward to the results for #LA. What a blast to have members of other #Occupations (San Diego, Portland, Oakland, Wall Street, Long Beach, among others) offering support and advice during the GAs. How fucking cool to have OakFoSho HERE, tossing figurative whoopee cushions under the cops...endless respect.

This thing is growing. It is =community=. During the GA last night, a simple question was presented for everyone to ponder, and share with the Assembly: Why do you #Occupy?. Got some excellent answers, as expected. It came up for me, that we have been divided and conquered out of the habit of Community, into nuclear families and work cubicle farms, etc. because sitting in a group of like-minded individuals, all there for the same very positive reason, was empowering like I can't tell you. You can TASTE the freedom in a group like that. Of course they're going to work against us remembering our power, and it is of course why they always attack emergent sub-culture.

I cannot describe how it feels, going to a good GA. It feels =right=. It feels =natural=. It feels like a far better world is possible, NOW, and that we can do it. You have to attend to really feel it. I hope that you do!

Major support to those who, even going so far off-script, still managed to persevere and win! Just next time, please have a little thought for those of us who chose the "not getting arrested group". We still support the overall!
