Cain letter to Iowans: Blacks sold bill of goods that conservatives are racist

In a letter to Iowans Saturday, presidential candidate Herman Cain portrays himself as a tea party champion who, as a “bonus,” can win a large number of black voters.

“They (black voters) are with us on fiscal issues, moral issues, educational issues, and family issues, but have been sold a bill of goods that Conservatives are racist,” Cain says in his latest mailing.

The letter is a multi-page financial solicitation that went out to a large national list, including a small number of Iowans, Cain’s Iowa chairman, Steve Grubbs, told The Des Moines Register today.

...

The new letter is a variation on one that arrived in some Iowa mailboxes last weekend. In that seven-page donation request, Cain says he believes he will be the 2012 GOP nominee because, as a descendant of slaves, he will garner a large share of the black vote.

5. The GOP works in small % of voters. They know they will not get a groundswell
of support from AA. But still convincing African Americans that up is down is on the agenda. Then they do it to Jewish groups. Then with women. And all these small % add up on election days because the parties are so close.

6. Wow - he plays the race card in a way that insults his entire race!
What he is saying, in effect, is that generations of black citizens and activists were not capable of coming to their own determinations concerning which party best served their interests, and which did not. But he fails to explain why he has remained magically unaffected by this affliction.
