I hate to admit, but I think the new Morning Joe intro video is pretty damned funny.

If you haven't seen it it's worth a look. I found it funnier the second time I saw it, once I got over the shock of Mika in her little running suit.

It's the top link, "Morning Joe To Go." Preceeded by a short toothpaste commercial.

(edit to add link and useless commentary)

1. Notice every promo makes sure to feature Mika's very shapely legs..
She really does have gorgeous legs. Go MIKA! :D

2. She's definately attractive. I'm just surprised to agreed to be filmed in that outfit!
Not that there is anything wrong with it, imho. She looks great! But it just seems to play into the stuff she usually rails against in regard to women in the workplace. OTOH, if that is what she actually wears running, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, then why should it make a difference? It's just kind of funny how the male members of the crew are portrayed in strip bars, drunk, hungover, gambling, sleeping on park benches, while Mika is fit and beautiful and scowling at them and all their disgusting-ness at the end of the video. I wonder who wrote it.

3. It seems to be the theme of the whole show...always has been.
The men are a bunch of useless louts and she works her ass off and is serious about her job.

Joe said he was zen like today. No waving of arms or yelling from him. Wonder how long that will last. At the very least, he could let her speak a little more...

4. That was pretty good.
Tho' I still wouldn't watch the show even if I had cable.

5. Creature of habit...morning TV
I'm not exactly ancient, but I'm working my way there. At 52, I remember waking up to Rex Trailer and Captain Kangaroo before the parents tuned into the Today Show. No internet or cell phones, the only source of info was the TV. It was that way through much of my youth, though we did get the amazing "cable tv" sometime in my early teens, and jumped past the 13-channel mark. But not by much...most stations still went off the air around 11:30 pm - 1:00 am. I'm not a big TV watcher now, just news and movies. But I still like to wake up to news, and bizarre as it seems, MSNBC is the only morning program that still focuses on news, and not cooking segments, fashion shows, Justin Bieber concerts and phony call-ins.

7. I remember those days well! :)
I'm not too far behind you at 48. Remember Captain Kangaroo (& Mr. Greenjeans!) in the morning. Those were interesting times, race riots and such where I was (Detroit).

Anyhow, on the TV thing, I am much the same in that I often have something going int he background but nowadays that is Netflix. I get news here and other sites. Just couldn't see paying that damn cable bill as I am unemployed. $8 a month and no right wing noise.

Cheers :toast:

10. I learned much from the good Captain...
(1) Don't screw around with Mr. Moose unless you're prepared to be buried in ping-pong balls;
(2) Bunny Rabbits have a serious carrot addiction problem.

I always hoped the Banana Man would make an appearance. Sometimes, I got lucky. My mother always preferred I watch Captain Kangaroo instead of Winky Dink, because she got tired of cleaning magic-crayon drawings off the screen.

6. I hate to admit it, too. But wherever do they find the time to do all that
production?!1 Plus, BARNICLE the plagiarist is there to stay, yuk, since he's included in the "family." Why didn't they include BUCHANAN the Fascist?!1 Yeah, it'd be yummy to see his bare feet like Mika's.

8. I think Buchanan has been pretty much banned...
his combination racist/anti-semitic views have silenced him on MSNBC, I hope forever. He used to be a regular of sorts on Tweety's show but I haven't seen him there either...
