For what it's worth.
The shaming of the UC Davis Chancellor by silent occupiers, as she walked to her car the day after the 'Piking' of peaceful protestors was incredibly powerful. It is an example that I would advocate at any opportunity, because the silent watching amplifies the non-violent nature of the protest, and intensifies the shame.
For the most part, stay silent.
Wherever you are in the world, because you are largely motivated by love of your country and adherence to its founding principles, wear your national colours, wherever possible, and carry your national flag.
Break your silence for two purposes: 1. to periodically sing your national anthem, or similar. 2. When faced with your nemesis, in the form of an official, politician, or enforcement officer, to whisper, just audibly, "Shame on you"
All the best,

we the 99% are silent for all practical purposes so the dollar taped over the mouth or simply silence is a meaningful way to protest. I thought that walk of shame was brilliant. Here is a link showing both videos in case there is anyone on DU who hasn't seen them (left is the pepper spray incident, right is the Chancellor walking to her car): http://www.pensitoreview.com/2011/11/21/uc-davis-chancellor-faces-silent-walk-of-shame-over-pepper-spray-incident/

When I first saw the silent protest, I found it thrilling. The power of just bearing silent witness to the disgrace of the 1%. So pure.

I am part of the 99%, and I could have referred my comments to 'occupy' as that sets them apart from me, because I sleep in a house and appreciate what they are doing for me.
I just prefer to refer to 'occupy' as 'the 99%', because it reminds people that the protesters are representing us, and are not not some 'other' occupying force.
