Republican dirty tricks in Wisconsin's Walker recall - #'s reported over weekend false
Edited on Mon Nov-28-11 08:53 AM by PeaceNikki
Yesterday there were reports, including an http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x5071703">LBN article here on DU and an http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2386501">OP that I started in GD stating that we had surpassed half of the required signatures to meet our goal. It turns out that is an unconfirmed false report http://www.facebook.com/WisDems/posts/10150417280708592"> according to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and several communications among ACTUAL organizers. In addition, a fake website was setup for Occupy Madison that stated the required number of signatures had been met and advised collectors to tear up any that they had not submitted. This website was reported to the ISP and appears to be down at least temporarily.

Is anyone shocked?

1. I am...
I cannot imagine any Republican would do such a thing.

:sarcasm:

2. Standard, totally predictable behavior by the GOP in these types of scenarios.
If this did not occur, I would be shocked, and doubly suspicious.

3. Yet Republicans still insist that the majority of voters agree with them....
.... which would make any dirty tricks unnecessary.

4. "advised collectors to tear up any that they had not submitted."
Is this not a crime?

Something like suborning a felony? I don't have it in me to research it this morning, but the destruction of collected signature is a felony, and this statement clearly is encouraging the commission of a felony.
