2. What is really disheartening

is that I grew up in a country that fought for freedom for the disenfranchised who were in the majority.
At one time, we had friends from the US who were very disparaging about the situation, that we abhorred.
Having lived in the US for many years, the US is now behind that country in some areas.
I do believe that Cheney/Bush followed some of the Botha "kragdadigheid" philosophies.
An eternal battle between the minds of those on the right and on the left.
