I work for a woman who ordered this mega-blender thinking it would be handy to replace other appliances she has. I make her a smoothie in the morning, an easy task for this large machine. The drawbacks to this machine are it is very difficult, and I would think for any older person, or anyone with arthritis, carpel tunnel etc. would have an almost impossible time screwing on the top and the blender onto the base. It also has a base metal that rusts, and fluids leak onto the base.
I would not recommend this machine that costs $200 plus. A good blender will do the same jobs.
