"Shoot Those Leftist Bastards Dead"
I think the debate over whether right wing rhetoric caused the Tucson shooting is misplaced. It would be better to think about how the decline of standards in our media is polluting our culture:

http://newsprism.wordpress.com">Here's a radio host who said, word for word, "Shoot Those Leftist Bastards Dead."

And that was one of his less offensive rants!

1. I blame the media and their never-ending quest
to profit regardless of the outcome to society at large. Greed mongers is not a strong enough a descriptor.

I would even suggest that their real mission is to keep the USA divided, unfocused and in turmoil while the bankers and corporations profit, and wealthy billionaire elitists with which many in the media enjoys strong connections, can pillage the country at will. Strong words I guess, but not as strong as they need to be. The same media has pushed the USA into unnecessary wars; has done nothing to create public outrage against Wall St nor the incessant process of now international (not USA) corporations ship our jobs to China to provide investment gains for capitalists.

No one can say it better than this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acLW1vFO-2Q

3. K&R!!!
This says it all:

The same media has pushed the USA into unnecessary wars; has done nothing to create public outrage against Wall St nor the incessant process of now international (not USA) corporations ship our jobs to China to provide investment gains for capitalists.

I'm not sure how we Americans fit into this corporatist scenario, but I do suspect we'll not be able to continue in this role for long...

2. The corporate media & PBS have blood on theoir hands FOR NOT REPORTING RW HATE SPEECH

Instead, they spread the lie that "Both sides do it."

4. The article at the link is nothing more than more "false equivalency"
The author at the link simply blames BOTH sides and calls for more civil discourse. He offers that Olbermann is NO DIFFERENT than Neil Boortz or Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck.

The debate about right-wing rhetoric is NOT misplaced. It is EXACTLY what should be on the table. There is NO equivalency in scale, frequency or tone and to offer such is simply not correct!

Cheers!

5. Its no coincidence, IMO, that the first four letters of Neal Boortz' surname spells "boor" n/t

6. Unrec
The OP offers in the headline "Shoot Those Leftist Bastards Dead" and then immediately offers in the body of the post "I think the debate over whether right wing rhetoric caused the Tucson shooting is misplaced".

Really? This is the old false equivalency BS that is PURPOSELY being injected in to the discussion by apologists for the right wing. There is no equivalency.

7. i'm sorry, but i don't follow your logic.
how does the decline of media standards make the debate over right wing rhetoric causing the tucson shooting misplaced. to my mind, they are essentially the same debate. the media is essentially the right wing.
