Families Reject Blair Apology Over Iraq Dead
Edited on Fri Jan-21-11 02:46 PM by spanone
bu$h* hasn't had to answer ONE question about iraq....not one

LONDON January 21, 2011 (AP)

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair offered an emotional
apology for the deaths of soldiers and civilians in
Iraq, as he testified Friday to Britain's inquiry into the
war.

The 57-year-old Blair, making a second appearance
before the panel to clarify evidence he gave to the
same panel a year ago, also urged Western leaders to
confront a growing threat posed by Iran.

Addressing the five-member panel scrutinizing
Britain's role in the unpopular war, Blair
acknowledged that in phone calls and messages in
2002 — months before Parliament approved Britain's
role in the conflict — he reassured U.S. President
George W. Bush and told him: "You can count on us."

Alongside his evidence, the inquiry published a
previously unseen 2002 memo from Blair to his chief
of staff, in which the leader called for a "gung-ho"
approach toward Saddam Hussein's regime.

6. It would be more useful to look into whether and if so how much Blair
was paid by oil companies for his support of that war.

As for the Muslim fanaticism argument, Saddam Hussein was not w religious fanatic. In fact, he discouraged religious fanaticism in Iraq -- which may be why the Saudis apparently did not like him (at least they didn't like him based on the Wikileaks releases).

8. Good point
What I always found interesting was how quickly he joined the catholic church - almost like protection.

3. The only obvious answer to this question left is:
They (those who would have the power to enact real justice) are all corrupt to the core.

7. I'm thinking if something DOES come of this, then we'd have to follow suit,
don't you think? Or am I just dreaming?

If GB and the WORLD decides Blair is a war criminal, then wouldn't all eyes point to the U.S.?

My continuing prayer that Cheney doesn't die before he's charged and tried and found guilty.

9. So, let's see if I have this right...
If Iran poses a "growing threat" then we should invade Switzerland.

10. I thought that Blair was an excellent prime minister
when Bill Clinton was president. My appreciation for him was diminished when GWB became president. His character changed completely with his association with Bush.
